Juniors’ outdoor cricket leagues and cup tournaments conclude at the end of July, however we will roll on through the summer with the Hampshire Summer Hundred tournament!
Congratulations to EMWCC’s Girls U11’s who have won the Bethan Watkinson County Cup. The final was played at the David Roth Cricket Ground on Monday July 6th
V Hursley Park CC’s U11’s and won by 10 runs. The club’s bar was open and a BBQ was enjoyed by all the players and their supporters. The girls worked so well as a team and we are very proud of all who took part in the matches running up to the big final.
The U15’s Boys won their Hampshire North Regional Cup semi-final against Twyford CC, played at Twyford, by 21 runs and are through to the final which will be against Wokingham CC’s U15’s Yellow Oaks at Wokingham on Sunday July 19th. The boys in this team are mostly from local state schools where cricket is not the main sport and they have worked extremely hard in training. This is especially down to the high quality and fun training sessions run by manager and coach Ben Gillings and the club’s head coach Ian Stuart, who have both coached this group of boys throughout the last few years.
Adults’ cricket continues throughout August with the club continuing to field three men’s teams, a twenty20 evening league squad and a ladies W10 team.
The annual Sixes tournament will be played on Friday July 24th. The Cricketers will supply the bar and Paul Moffatt the hog roast. On Thursday 23rd the club will host a community evening starting at 6.00pm, including a bar and BBQ.
2026 is the club’s 80th Anniversary. A celebration is planned on Sunday August 2nd in conjunction with the annual EMWCC vs MCC match. For more information on any of the club’s activities please make contact with those listed below.
